I use Spamassassin, it is not great. It uses a long list of hardcoded rules and assignes a score to each one. The rules vary greatly in technique, but the scores appear to be assigned using some kind of statistical research. If the total spam score is above a threshold you can take some action, the default action is to put {Spam?} into the subject line so the user can use client side filtering or whatever. | |

I'd say that 80% of my spam is correctly marked and 25% of my non-spam is marked as spam also. So I would not do anything other than the subject line marking. Spambayes works good though, I like that program. | |
